Sue was born in 1953 and has been actively pursuing her artistic career since early childhood. She received art training in her early years of education and has been actively studying on her own for the past 30 years. Her painting styles have evolved from her many years as a commercial graphic artist. Her beach inspired paintings and portraits are what she is now noted for.
Recently she has added many styles of Pop art to her repertoire. These new fun designs are influenced by Warhol, Lichtenstein, Opie and the latest Fairey “Obama style” poster art. Her work can be easily identified by her fine details and by the way she mixes colors.
“35 years ago I began my career hand painting color separations for numerous wallpaper companies. This work consisted of precisely copying intricate and complex designs, using the smallest of bristle brushes. When the industry revolved from manual to the sophisticated digital mode I swapped my wet paints for a dry remote brush. The emergence of superior digital painting programs and my passion of painting has led me to develop my own unique styles. Vibrant digital oils of people, pets and landscapes, printed on canvas or linen are my forte.
I still live in the small New England County I grew up in and love spending my summers on the beaches of Cape Cod. Many of my paintings are of the beautiful coastal vistas found on the Cape. The painting of myself and the other of my daughter Chelsea and Pug Weston are examples of my digital oils style.
Working with Paint Your Life is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. The challenge of creating unique and personal digital paintings from customer’s photos is always exciting.”
